Job summary
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the NDC(Neurodevelopmental Conditions) Service.
We have a reputation for being creative, innovative, forward thinking, dynamic and research led. As a service we work closely with Oxford University to lead on research opportunities. With the support of NHS England the NDC service are currently developing a new diagnostic ASD Adolescent assessment tool. The project will continue for another year to complete phase 2, which will include data analysis of the tool and working towards publication. The wellbeing of our Administrative and Clinical staff is top of our agenda; we have an active Wellbeing Team and regular opportunities for staff support. We have a strong ethos of collaboration, shared reflection and team working.
The CAMHS NDC team strongly believe that the context of the young person is fundamental to working with complexities and transdiagnostic presentation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the Clinical provision offered within the NDC Service. This will include:-
- Offering specialist clinical assessments for young people with neurodevelopmental conditions with complex mental health difficulties and challenging behaviour.
- Offering ADOS assessments
- Offering duty consultation to Families, CAMHS clinicians and Multiagency services
- Delivering psycho-education using a range of therapeutic models.
- Delivering clinical supervision and supporting nursing, OT and social work trainees.
Main duties of the job
The Oxford NDC CAMHS Service covers a diverse catchment area, that is both rural and urban. Our main office sits on the Slade site in Oxford, which is conveniently situated 1 mile from the A34 and 5 miles from the M40. Oxfordshire is a wonderful place to live, whether you are looking for outdoor adventures that could include walking along the River Thames path, joining one of the many watersport clubs, walking/cycling across the Ridgeway, enjoying a coffee in Henley on Thames, enjoying the shopping and social experience of the newly built Westgate Centre in Oxford or taking advantage of all the history thatOxford City has to offer. Oxfordshire is perfectly situation to be 1 hour from Birmingham, 1 hour from London and only 1 hour from the coast.
To undertake and manage a specific caseload of young people, completing all required documentation including risk assessment and care plans.
Provide a fully integrative multi-agency approach to care planning for children, young people and families in the service.
To complete mental state assessments.
Responsible for implementing and co-ordinating a range of interventions for children, young people and families.
Duty clinician for families or other professionals involved needed advice about challenging behaviours or risk related issues.
To develop networks and liaison with Social Care.
To co-facilitate group interventions.
