We're looking to recruit a dedicated practitioner to lead our DBT in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Outreach Team.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist DBT service to clients with complex mental health problems including severe, enduring and multiple disorders, and challenging behaviour.

Main duties of the job
- To offer consultation and supervision and support the work of other service staff and psychology clinical team members providing psychologically based care and treatment, according to expertise.
- To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
- To utilise research skills for audit and contribute to research and training within the areas served by the teams and service.
- To be involved in service developments, as appropriate.

Job responsibilities
- Support in the supervision, ensuring adherence to the DBT model, including facilitation of it. This will include being able to participate in all modalities of the therapy. This will include taking part in covering the DBT standard phone coaching rota. This will include at times working outside of usual working hours (08:00-20:00 Monday-Friday; Saturday, Sunday and Bank holidays 09:00-17:00, except for Christmas Day). This may also include evening to facilitate therapy groups, which currently operate Monday and Wednesday, 17:30-20:00.
- Provide expert care to patients on their caseload. Providing skilled assessment, treatment, supervision and consultation as part of the DBT provision within CAMHS.
- To provide expertise and specialist advice, supervision, guidance and consultation to other professionals delivering DBT and to contribute directly to young peoples assessment and treatment.
- To provide and ensure that all staff within Oxfordshire CAMHS providing DBT receive appropriate training and have appropriate supervision arrangements in place.
- Exercise a high degree of personal professional autonomy.
- Make critical judgements of the highest order to satisfy the expectations and demands of the job.

- Ability to teach and train others, using a variety of complex multi-media materials suitable for presentations within public, professional and academic settings.
- Current registration with the NMC.
- Demonstrate further specialist training/experience through having received a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision in a specific modality, or any other relevant supervised practice experience including case presentations, supported by short courses approved by the Trust Head of Psychology, and assessed at interview.
Desirable
- Experience of facilitating different modalities of DBT.
Qualifications

- Current registration with the NMC.
- Completion of DBT Intensive Training & commitment to achieve DBT accreditation

- Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.

- Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the NMC
