Job summary

*Full time and part time applications will be considered*

Senior Support Workers are instrumental in delivering intensive home treatments to service users in their own place of residence under the guidance and support of qualified Crisis Clinicians and Team Leader. Senior Support Workers will deliver recovery focused intervention (emotional and practical support) to a small caseload of service users and their nominated friends/family/carers.

Oxfordshire is developing its mental health crisis response provision following new investment and we are expanding our Home Treatment Team. Currently this is a service to provide intensive home treatment to people living in Oxford City as a true alternative to admission. The team is being developed and expanded to now include the whole county of Oxfordshire. There are further plans to include a Crisis Resolution aspect to the team, which will be developed in due course.

Main duties of the job

Senior Support Workers must have substantial experience and a proven track record working in health or social care and be able to demonstrate Trust values in delivering care to others. The successful candidate will be able to follow and initiate plans of care flexibly and dynamically in challenging and changing circumstances.

Oxford Health works in partnership with 5 third sector providers as part of the Oxford Mental Health Partnership (OMHP), and the new crisis service will be working closely with partners, in particular Oxfordshire Mind and the Safe Haven services in order to ensure diversity and choice of service for people experiencing a mental health crisis. Senior Support Workers must have the skills and aptitude to work creatively and proactively with our third sector partners.
