Job summary
This is a rare opportunity to join our Learning Disability Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team.
You will join our experienced CAMHS Learning Disability Team, offering initial assessment and becoming a keyworker for some young people, alongside using your professional qualification to provide specialist interventions. You will work closely not only with the Consultant Psychiatrist but with the rest of the team to work alongside the Challenging Behaviour Pathway.
The team really value the different skills that each member of the team brings and in addition there is access to training where required.
The team are an extremely supportive group and work really closely together. You will be provided with a clear job plan and regular management and clinical supervision as well as a thorough induction package.
The team work across Oxfordshire for their clinical work but also work in a hybrid way with some working at home as well as office based working.

Main duties of the job
- Provide a clinical service to young people who have a learning disability and their families/support networks through person-centred nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of health care needs
- Be a member of an integrated multi-disciplinary Learning Disability Team.
- Manage a complex caseload of patients.
- Be accountable for assessing, interpreting, planning and implementing person-centred nursing treatment and care to patients within professional guidelines.
- Undertake comprehensive health assessments with patients referred to the team.

- Undertake complex specialist assessments and care planning.
- Lead nursing care for all patients referred to the team for nursing assessment and intervention
- Contribute to effective multidisciplinary working within the Learning Disability Team and build effective liaison with community, primary, secondary and tertiary services / agencies to both meet individual need and facilitate service development.
- Carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and will be required support and supervise qualified and unqualified team members.
- Mentor, supervise, teach and assess degree level student nurses.
- Act as clinical supervisor to Band 5 nursing colleagues where necessary
- Act as clinical supervisor to assistant nurse practitioner
- Contribute to the management and leadership of the nursing team on a daily basis.
- Participate in the recruitment, deployment and management of staff.
- Ensure that systems are used to incorporate any adopted models of quality assurance and governance into everyday practice.
- Understand statutory Safeguarding Adults protocols and participate in Safeguarding procedures when required.
