Patient administration underpins the patient journey and supports clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and can make a real difference to the patient experience. Effective and efficient patient administration supports management through ensuring a high standard of data quality and by making the best use of capacity and resources.

The post holder has responsibility for the provision of a professional, comprehensive and efficient administrative service, which is effectively delivered to all patients and members of the department. This will involve providing a full administration service to the team and taking responsibility for managing the whole patient pathway.

Main duties of the job

To co-ordinate and be responsible for the provision of full secretarial and administrative services to Bucks Talking Therapies, including overseeing long term conditions referrals.

To take a lead role in the management of lists and clinics, ensuring that all patients are seen within the required time scales and in accordance with key performance indicators.

To take appropriate action to ensure that referrals and follow-up appointments are processed in a timely fashion.

To monitor the processes of waiting lists as policy, auctioning and recording all outcomes and removing patients from the waiting list where indicated.

To be responsible for prioritising work, developing staff, reviewing working practices to ensure the effective running of the department and effective communication structures are implemented.

To coordinate the day to day activities of the admin team.
