An exciting and rare development opportunity to join our supportive and highly skilled safeguarding service.
We are seeking two motivated and passionate practitioners who would like to develop their skills in safeguarding practice. We would welcome applicants with a background in either adults or children's services that have an interest in safeguarding and have had experience in supporting vulnerable children/ families and adults.
Main duties of the job
The core function of this post is to support the provision and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures in the Trust. This includes active participation in the work safeguarding children's partnerships (MASH), provision of training (to staff working in the Trust and to multi-agency groups), implementation of audit and the provision of specialist advice, information, guidance, and supervision.
The post holder will work with a range of key professionals to contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of services designed to protect children and young people from harm and promote their welfare through safeguarding processes. These include local and national agencies for example LSCB, Midwives, acute colleagues, GP's, local authority partners, police, fire and ambulance services.
To proactively support Safeguarding Service work with all services within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with other Service Managers to ensure safeguarding is embedded in clinical practice across the Organisation.

- Experience of dealing with complex child protection issues, including attendance at case conference/core groups
- Understanding of domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental health risk factors for children and adults
- Practical experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team
- Evidence of undertaking risk assessments
- Practical experience of presenting to groups
- Confident in your knowledge of children safeguarding processes and relevant documents relating to safeguarding children
Desirable
- Practical experience of developing, implementing and evaluating training
