The South Buckinghamshire Older Adult Community Mental Health team look after people over 65yrs who are in need of mental health treatment. We are keen to take on someone with a real interest to learn and develop this specialist knowledge, even if you have not worked with Older Adults before. We need you to be caring and compassionate and have the patient at the centre of what you do.
We have opportunities for both full time and part time and are happy to discuss potential flexible working arrangements.
Main duties of the job
Our team is based at Saffron House in Easton -High Wycombe, which is the newly established mental health hub in South Bucks. We provide community based treatments and are fortunate to work alongside our own dedicated Social Care Team. We provide focussed interventions for the older adults of South Buckinghamshire.
Saffron House benefits from being at an accessible location, that is not only close to local bus and train stations but also the M40 motorway, with free staff parking on site.
This service operates 365 days per year and follows the principals the Community Mental Health Framework. The core working hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00 til 17.00. Out of hours/duty support services are managed via a team rota. Staff will be expected to work on this rota which includes 9:00 til 17.00 at weekends.
We want you to be a confident practitioner, able to work with students and teach others and be able to work under pressure and have excellent mental health assessment skills. Good communication is essential and an interest in developing physical health assessments is encouraged.
