Job summary

Are you an enthusiastic registered, Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity for new and exciting development?

Do you have previous clinical and management experience and want to develop and consolidate these skill is a small but dynamic team?

If so, then the Oxfordshire Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) service wants to hear from you.

The Oxfordshire ADHD is a new service providing a comprehensive diagnostic assessment service, management advice for GPsand mental health professionals, and initial treatment for adult patients without a previous diagnosis of ADHD.

In this role, you will work closely with the Adult Mental Health Teams to provide tertiary care for individuals and specialist advice. The postholder will also conduct initial Triage, assessments and follow up appointments.

Main duties of the job

You will hold the day to day responsibility of running the service. This will include the working alongside the clinical lead to expand and develop the staffing establishment and shape the service to deliver a high quality service to our patient group.

Face to face assessments will be conducted at the Warneford Hospital. Some consultations will be conducted via a digital platform depending on patient need and availability.

  • New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
  • Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.

Essential

  • RMN, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Professional Qualification

Desirable

  • Training in assessment and treatment in ADHD with extensive experience in service delivery in this field
  • Postgraduate clinical management qualifications
  • Advanced Assessment Skills Training

Experience

  • Experience of Caseload management/highly complex and difficult clinical situations and cases
  • Specialist or advanced skills attained in assessment
  • High level experience of management and performance management skills
  • Experience of developing and leading service development and ability to demonstrate positive outcomes for patients and carers

Desirable

  • Experience of working in adult mental health and having knowledge of other conditions likely co-morbid with adult ADHD (e.g. anxiety disorders) and also possible differential diagnosis conditions that may need to be considered in the diagnostic process.
  • Experience in supervision, teaching and developing the skills of students and junior staff as appropriate
