We are excited to advertise this new Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist Role. This is a new and unique joint role, based in our Oxford City AMHT with a trustwide outreach role delivering Virtual Reality (VR) based approaches across the trust to people who experience psychosis. You will also be a member of the Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis (O-CAP) research team led by Professor Daniel Freeman.
Main duties of the job
This postholder will deliver and oversee psychological interventions for people who experience psychosis across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire as part of a pilot implementation programme of virtual reality approaches.
The postholder will be line managed as part of Oxford City AMHT with specialist supervision from clinical academic colleagues in the Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis (O-CAP) research team, and will be a member of both the AMHT and O-CAP teams.
With a base as part of the Oxford City Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT), the postholder will provide a flexible service across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire including working into other Oxford Health Trust sites and patients home as agreed. There will be opportunities to evaluate this service and to participate in research activity.

The postholder will provide a qualified clinical psychology service to clients of the service team, across all sectors of care; providing highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on clients psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other including non-professional carers. They will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures. They will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.

- New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
- Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
