Job summary
We are seeking to appoint to a substantive consultant post to provide a regional Neurophysiology service based at Northampton General Hospital.
The consultant's job plan will be based on a 10 PA contract. We would welcome enquiries and applications from fully trained Consultant Neurophysiologists in possession of MRCP or equivalent, or those within 6 months of obtaining CCT.
This is a well-established Neurophysiology service originating in 1955.
The post holder will complement the Neurological service of the Medicine Directorate
Main duties of the job
Job Purpose
To provide a Clinical Neurophysiology Service.
Duties & Responsibilities
The number of sessions to be devoted to the following activities will be dependent upon the department's need.
Peripheral nerve conduction and EMG out-patient clinics
Supervision of clinical physiology led NCS clinics Inpatient / bedside NCS and EMG EEG reporting EP reporting Ambulatory EEG reporting Training junior staff Be prepared to participate in management duties within the department and the Trust The successful candidate will agree a job plan with the clinical director prior to commencement of duties. This will consist of: 4 PAs peripheral NCS / EMG, 4 PAs EEG reporting, 2 SPAs
