Job summary
Applications are warmly invited for a Locum Consultant to join and support the expansion of the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN) Orthodontic Service.
The successful applicant will join a team of four Orthodontic Consultants working across UHN, collaborating closely with Maxillofacial and laboratory colleagues to provide high-quality orthodontic care to patients across our hospital sites in Northamptonshire.
As a member of the Orthodontic Team, you will receive full support in all aspects of the role. In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the development of the service by supporting, coaching, and sharing your knowledge and expertise with colleagues.
The department maintains strong teaching and training links with the East Midlands Deanery for Dental Core Trainees (DCTs) and hosts Orthodontic Specialty Trainees within the team. You will also work alongside therapists and laboratory staff based at both sites.
Main duties of the job
Flexibility:The department is pleased to consider applications from candidates seeking a contract of fewer than 10 PAs. Flexible working arrangements are supported and can be discussed further at interview.
Timetable:The successful candidate's timetable will include a regular commitment to routine secondary-care orthodontic clinics, along with participation in fortnightly joint orthognathic clinics.
Teaching:Due to our close proximity to London and Birmingham (both approximately one hour away), the department provides training for a London Orthodontic StR and regularly participates in national study days and professional meetings.
