An exciting opportunity has arisen for a ward clerk on Allebone stroke rehabilitaion ward at NGH
Allebone ward is a 28 bedded unit that provides care for patients with a diagnosis of stroke and are rehabilitaing with support from our strong multi disciplinary team of doctors,nurses,therapists .
Allebone requires a ward clerk who is willing to learn in a supportive environment to ensure our patients receive the best possible care .
Main duties of the job
To maintain the patient records/notes and other ward records using in-house computersystems.To ensure patients demographics and other personal details is updated.To complete the process and forward patient notes appropriately.To use effective communication skills to answer the telephone, take messages, accordingto the agreed standard and give the appropriate information as required.To photocopy/scan documents as required.To ensure patient confidentiality at all times in line with the Trust policy.To assist in the induction and development of others by demonstrating own dutiesTo undertake other ad hoc tasks to support the service needs

Take responsibility to ensure that Professional Registration is up to date at all timesand does not lapse or expire and to inform line management immediately with anyconcerns if registration lapses or expires (all registered staff). This post involves incidental access to the public and does not have access tochildren and/or vulnerable adults, as defined by the Disclosure and Barring Service(DBS). Therefore, no DBS check is required of the post holder) This post involves access to patients and their data include children and/or adultsat risk, as defined by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). It will therefore benecessary for the post holder to apply for and be in receipt of a satisfactoryStandard DBS check. If you have not had a satisfactory DBS check within the last three years you maybe required to apply for an updated DBS check during your employment. The Trust requires all new starters to subscribe to the DBS update service, where itis a requirement of the role. Be responsible for maintaining own vaccinations that are applicable to the role. Safeguard patient confidentiality at all times, including adherence to the DataProtection Act. Attend statutory and mandatory training and refresher courses as necessary.
