Job summary
To provide a confidential and high-quality support service to the Maternity Services, of both an administrative and practical nature. The post holder will provide administration and clerical cover for other departments in maternity services when required.
You will be responsible for providing clerical/administrative support for Balmoral/Birth Centre, using the IT systems to capture patient activity.
This is a busy, diverse role which requires excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. The post holder also requires excellent communication skills to interact with patients/visitors and all levels of staff who work or visit the area.
Main duties of the job
- To greet/welcome women and their partners/families to the Maternity Wards.- Answering telephone calls, giving and receiving messages. Liaising with midwife in charge of shift.- Answering security doorbell - to allow identified parents/visitors and staff into the department.- Tidying patients notes ready for medical records or other departments.
