Job summary
Working in partnership with the General Manager, Deputy Head of Operations, Head of Operations, Clinical Divisional Director, Head of Nursing, Deputy Head of Nursing and the Matrons for the Division, be accountable for the effective and efficient day to day operational delivery of the services.
Support the General Manager on behalf of the Head of Operations in the development and implementation of the annual service, business and strategic plans that are consistent with the strategic aims and objectives of the Trust.
Responsible for the performance management of professional, financial and quality standards, reporting to the Head of Operations and Divisional Clinical Director.
Support the division and be responsible for the production through to implementation of business cases taking account of activity, income projections and appraisal of appropriate service models as part of the business case process.
Responsible for capacity planning, negotiating and ultimately the successful delivery of the performance metrics to include RTT.
Responsibility for co-ordinating and tracking performance of the Divisions transformation programme
Support the Head of Operations for the development and implementation of the service /division policies.
Ensure patient safety and the provision of quality care is at the core of service delivery and planning.
Support for business performance and projects.
Main duties of the job
The role will provide service support to the Elderly, General Medicine and Discharge Team. Ensuring the smooth running of the service for compliance with the 18-week RTT and 2-weektargets.
Delivering compliance of clinic ratios, clinic productivity and efficiencies. Facilitating the planning and delivery of the service transformation programme including the Quality Innovation Productivity and Prevention framework (QIPP), Best Practice Tariff and CQUINs where applicable.
In partnership, with the Head of Operations, Deputy Head of Operations, General Manager, Divisional Clinical Director, Head of Nursing, Deputy Head of Nursing and the Matrons for the relevant service portfolio, take responsibility for the day-to-day operational managementincluding access, capacity and patient flow across elective and non-elective pathways.
The post holder will support the General Manager in the service planning process for their area to include financial forecasting, income forecasting incorporating the demand, capacity and activity modelling with the Finance Business Partner.
The post holder will also be part of the team in supporting the medicine capacity manager role. The support will facilitate and deliver oversight of the divisions daily discharge profile, engaging with ward managers and site team to provide live patient flow analysis.
To act as the Project Support for the Division for projects identified to deliver QIPP.
