Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care within our growingHead & Neck Cancer service, contributing to the diagnosis, treatment, and reconstruction of oncology patients.The role also includes participation in the 1:5 OMFS consultant on-call rota for emergency cover and active engagement in departmental leadership, service development, and education.

Your week will include a balance of theatre sessions, outpatient clinics, MDT participation, and supporting professional activities such as research, audit, and teaching. You'll have the autonomy to tailor your job plan (10-12 PAs) to your interests, including opportunities in education, innovation, and leadership.

You will:

  • Deliver safe, high-quality care to patients referred under 2WW and oncology pathways

  • Contribute to multidisciplinary Head & Neck, Skin, and Deformity MDTs

  • Participate in general OMFS emergency on-call cover (1:5)

  • Take part in departmental meetings and support service improvement and governance

  • Teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate trainees, fostering clinical excellence

  • Engage in continuing professional development, with study leave time and funding available
