Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Gynaecology department for a Gynae Emergency/Fertility nurse specialist role.
This role is 15 hours working in our Fertility Clinic and 22.5 hours in our Gynae Emergency Clinic.
This is a band 6 role progressing onto a band 7 role once competencies have been met and budget approved.
The post holder is required to provide high quality, individualised care and advice to all patients accessing the services. The post holder will provide a holistic approach to Fertility and Emergency Gynaecological investigations, treatment and early pregnancy through compassionate, evidence based practice.
Main duties of the job

The post holder will have the responsibility for the daily co-ordination of the Gynaecology Emergency Assessment Clinic and Fertility Unit at Northampton General Hospital.
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting all members of the team ensuring that care is delivered in line with current NICE Guidelines and local Trust protocols and appropriate imaging, reporting and management of patients is provided. They will promote nurse led care in partnership with other health professionals
The post holder is required to provide high quality, individualised care and advice to all clients accessing the services. The post holder will provide a holistic approach to Fertility and Emergency Gynaecological investigations, treatment and early pregnancy through compassionate, evidence based practice.
The post holder will practice autonomously from the findings of investigations and ultrasound scans to plan appropriate care and treat accordingly.
The post holder will be responsible for the development of both their role and other members of the team roles in order to both improve the service and maintain current service levels and practice according to the Nursing and Midwifery code of conduct.
