Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network. We are recruiting a Parent & Family Engagement Lead to join our team and we welcome applications from anyone who is committed to enhancing and improving the care of families within Neonatal Services, through embedding the family voice in all aspects of neonatal care.

You will assist the Network in supporting neonatal services across the East Midlands to develop and implement family integrated care initiatives, meeting the aims and key deliverables of the National Neonatal Critical Care Review (NCCR) 2019, the NHS Long Term Plan (2019) neonatal commitments and Three Year Delivery Plan (2023).

On behalf of the Network, you will develop and lead on patient and family engagement initiatives across the East Midlands, act as a representative for all neonatal families and assist in reducing variation / inconsistencies in engagement and co-production with neonatal service user voice at a local / regional and ICB level.

Working in collaboration with the Network family care team, the main focus will be to develop, improve and enhance family experience through gaining feedback and identifying quality improvements required. This will be achieved by working creatively, respectfully, and collaboratively to co-produce solutions together.

Main duties of the job

To develop and lead on parent and family engagement initiatives on behalf of the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (EMNODN), ensuring parents and families remain at the centre of service development.

To amplify the parent and family voice whilst supporting the implementation and development of family integrated care, meeting the aims and key deliverables of the Neonatal Critical Care Transformation Review (2019) and the neonatal commitments outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan (2019).

To compassionately listen and seek out the voices of parents and families who have lived experience of neonatal care, including underrepresented communities, and work to break down the barriers preventing these voices from shaping the development of family integrated care in all EMNODN units.

To work innovatively, respectfully, and collaboratively to ensure coproduction mechanisms are in place for all EMNODN improvement projects.

To utilise mixed method research techniques to analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of new engagement initiatives across the EMNODN.
