Job summary

Band 5- Staff Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an existing a Band 5 to join our Elective Althorp ward for a permanent full time/ part time position.

Althorp is an 18 bedded elective ward caring for patients who have undergone elective surgery. All patients admitted to this ward will follow government's isolation guidelines.

We are looking for an aspiring surgical nurse to join our team who can demonstrate sound knowledge and experience in caring for patients who require level one care .Therefore it is essential for the staff that they have taken Level one training.

You will be part of a growing team where there will be numerous opportunities to develop your skills and training within the surgical division to enable high standards of care to be delivered to our patients.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver high standards of care to patients and their families, ensuring excellent patient experience.

In particular, take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidenced-based nursing care to a group ofpatients.

The post holder will participate in the daily management of the ward when required, ensuring smooth and efficient running in the absence of the Junior Sister/Sister.

They will take responsibility for their own self-development helping to provide a suitable learning environment and high standards of clinical practice.

To recognise own limitations and seek advice and support from senior staff.
