Northampton General Hospital has created a new post to help reduce the utility use and carbon across its Cliftonville site. With responsibility for a budget in excess of £5million the post holder will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that will enable the Trust to meet its 2040 target.
As the Energy Manager, you will work to deliver the Trust's goal of carbon net zero by 2040, energy and water management, energy purchasing, energy auditing, business case development and training responsibilities.
Main duties of the job
Every day will be different, but some of the main areas you will be leading on will be:
- Leading on the Energy Efficiency schemes that are required to get us to Carbon Net Zero
- Producing Monthly and Annual Reports to report on carbon and budgetary positions
- Help to supervise the Carbon Net Zero Apprentice hosted on the NGH site
- Review and ensure compliance with all guidelines and legislation relating to utilities
- Analyse consumption trends, conduct audits, and review spend to help form business cases and determine future strategy
- Liaise with the Estates Operational and Capital Projects Team to provide expert advice on the estates infrastructure and refurbishments

- Master's Degree or equivalent experience in relevant area.
