Job summary
There is one Laparoscopic and Robotic Colorectal Fellow (Specialist Registrar Grade) job available offering the successful candidates the opportunity to train in a variety of general, colorectal, and upper GI specialities. This post is suited to ST3 of any level including post-CCT, who would like further training in Colorectal Surgery to advance their career and enhance their CV.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work for Laparoscopic Colorectal surgeons at Northampton General Hospital on a rotational basis. We provide specialist colorectal services including surgery for cancer and benign disease (inflammatory bowel disease surgery including ileo-anal pouch surgery).
Main duties of the job
- Colorectal & general surgery wards rounds
- Colorectal & general surgery theatre lists
- Outpatient clinics and endoscopy
- Being trained and supported in the development of operative skills
- Participation in Clinical Governance, including effective clinical audit, continuing medical education and mandatory training.
- Contributing to departmental audit and research with consultant supervision. Opportunities are available to undertake personal research and enhance the CV
- Participation in teaching programmes for medical staff, medical students (University of Leicester and University of Oxford) and other hospital employees, as required.
