Job summary
The post holder will work as a vascular registrar in the Northamptonshire Vascular Service. The key roles will be to work within the vascular team to support the care of vascular patients -in theatre, ward rounds and ward care, emergency duties and in the vascular clinic.
Main duties of the job
o To act under the supervision of the Surgical Consultants in the provision of a Surgical service and to support the Surgical Consultants in their duties.o Daily ward rounds with the vascular surgical team.o Operating theatre duties as assigned.o Outpatient clinicso General/Vascular on call on registrar rota (1in 10)o To admit patients from the Emergency Departmento Document review findings in clinical notes in a timely and legible manner.o To contribute to quality improvement; risk management initiatives and policy development so that the overall Surgical Service is of the highest quality.o To assist in the education of colleagues and staff.o To participate in work related projects at NGHo To act and behave professionally and perform one's duties in a manner that optimises patient care and protects and enhances the reputation of NGHo To comply with Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring safe working practices in a safe working environment.o To undertake any other duties that may be required, which could include assisting medical colleagues throughout the hospital and acting as a resource for more junior colleagues.
