Band 7 Clinical Lead Physiotherapist - Urgent Care and Frailty
Are you looking to develop your career as a senior clinician?
We are recruiting an experienced Physiotherapist to join our hardworking and dedicated team.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in Urgent care, A&E, admission units and Frailty. They will be expected to work independently providing specialist assessment and treatment planning with the main aim of facilitating admission avoidance. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide a holistic assessment of the patients' needs.
It is well known that the NHS is facing significant pressure at this time. NGH has determined increasing resources in Urgent care is the best strategy to support the trust with patient flow and provide high class intervention for patients.
The trust has recently opened a dedicated Frailty unit and the Urgent care and Frailty therapies team are a critical member of this MDT team. Working with the Frailty MDT team, therapists provide specialist assessment as part of the CGA and guide flow of patients from A&E through to the Frailty unit and beyond as required.
Main duties of the job
Alongside the 2 band 7's and other Therapy colleagues, the successful candidate will not only be required to work clinically as an autonomous practitioner and manage a demanding caseload but will also be required to evaluate and develop the service. Therefore, experience in service development and audit to evidence efficiency and efficacy would be beneficial, as well as contributing to departmental and Trust improvements.
As the joint therapy lead, you will also be responsible for supervision, training and development of the Therapy team (Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Support Staff and Students). NGH is proud to offer practice placements to students from Coventry University and the University of Northampton, therefore, the successful individual will be required to be a practice placement educator
