Job summary

Willow Ward needs you!!

Willow Ward is a 29 bedded surgical ward, specialising in vascular surgery. We also have the facility to take level 1 patients.

We are looking to employ enthusiastic, caring and compassionate nurses who want to achieve greatness for themselves and the ward.

In return we can offer you training for caring for vascular and General Surgery patients pre and post op; offer theatre experience to see the patients journey throughout and learn the skills to care for Level 1 patients. You will have the opportunity to attend our surgical new starters course; medicines management study day with Surgical P.D and wound care days. We will support you with your learning and help you become an integral part of our team.

On a day to day basis you will be caring for patients that may also belong to other specialities; supporting your colleagues on the ward and assisting in the discharge process to keep our patient safe on going home.

Actively involves others in communications between patients, their relatives and the multi-disciplinary team both within organisation and with external stakeholders to ensure excellent communication.

Has knowledge of infection control policies, with practical experience and principles in relation to the clinical environment; patient care; the prevention of cross infection; Covid guidelines; good hand hygiene and environmental cleaning within the department.

Leadership

Lead by example with drive and enthusiasm, responding appropriately to the needs of patients, families, and carers.

Sets high standards of nursing care and ensures this is maintained so that the patients experience is excellent.

With due regard to Risk Management policies and procedures. Uses local data to ensure the environment is safe for patients, relatives, carers and staff.
