Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible applicants to join our busy team supporting Sturtridge Labour Ward/Triage area.

This is an exciting opportunity for efficient and motivated people to join our Maternity team. The successful applicants must demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to work in a very busy area. The team cover the 7-day, 24-hour service and work flexibly together to meet service needs.

Knowledge of the NHS IT systems would be advantageous; however, training will be available. Your role will include a diverse range of skills which are required to support the efficient running of this busy area.

We are seeking team players who can work under pressure and prioritise their own workload, whilst responding to the needs of the area. You will be joining a very supportive and committed team who strive to be the best.

Main duties of the job

To provide a confidential and high-quality support service to the Maternity Services, of both an administrative and practical nature. The post holder will provide administration and clerical cover for other departments in maternity services when required.

You will be responsible for providing clerical/administrative support to a busy maternity area - predominantly Sturtridge labour ward/Triage area, using the IT systems to capture patient activity. This is a busy, diverse role which requires excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. The post holder also requires excellent communication skills to interact with patients/visitors and all levels of staff who work or visit the area.

  • Ad hoc duties, at the discretion of the Senior Midwife.
