Job summary
We are an expanding, forward thinking Maxillo Facial/Orthodontic Outpatients Department, who are looking for a motivated and innovative band 5 registered nurse to join our team.
The applicant should be able to work well in the multidisciplinary team, keen to learn and embrace a varied work pattern, ranging from clinic based activities to minor surgery and caring for patients following sedation/local anaesthetics to General anaesthetic.
Experience in paediatric andlearning disability nursing would be desirable, but not essential. Knowledge and experience of maxillofacial/orthodontic care would also be advantageous.

Main duties of the job
This post covers both the maxillofacial and orthodontic services within the unit.
The post holder will need to be flexible in their role, ranging from chaperoning clinics, assisting scrubbing and recovering all minor surgical procedures relating to the head and neck and procedures related to orthodontics.
Wound care and dressings are also an integral part of this role.
You will also be required to pre op assess patients for their theatre experience.
Working with children and nursing patients with learning difficulties are also part of the staff nurses role.
