Job summary
Fixed-term contract: 6-months
Primarily based at Nene Park Outpatients with occasional cover/support as required across sites. The post holder will provide essential support to the High Impact Intervention (HII) pathway and act as a Failsafe officer for Ophthalmology, with primary base at Nene Park. The role is crucial in ensuring the timely preparation of clinical notes, coordination of appointments and failsafe checks for patients on the HII pathway.
Main duties of the job
HII Pathway Support:o Ensure all notes and diagnostic results are available in advance of HII clinicappointments.o Liaise with clinicians and diagnostic teams to flag missing information or chaseoutstanding reports.o Track patient pathways and follow-up requirements as per clinical instruction.
Booking & Scheduling:o Provide failsafe support for allocated clinics. Ensuring clinic numbers are maintained ata level that is safe for both patients and staff, including cancelling and rebookingpatients where necessary.o Book short-notice HII appointments when required, often at short turnaround times.o Monitor appointment availability and work with the booking team to ensure all HII slotsare filled promptly.o Support the coordination of patient communications regarding appointments,cancellations, or rebooking.
Failsafe Duties:o Carry out failsafe checks to ensure no patients are lost to follow-up and that keyclinical actions are completed.o Record and escalate any breaches or issues in accordance with local SOPs and Trustpolicies.o Maintain accurate records of patients on the HII/failsafe database.
