As a busy Haematology & Oncology Department we are looking for a dynamic, well organised, proactive individual who's looking for a challenge.
This position requires a friendly individual who can work within a busy environment and has an ability to problem solve. The successful applicant will be expected to work as a team but show initiative, they must be able to adapt to a changing work environment and work well under pressure.
Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be negotiating, booking and co ordinating patient appointments over a multitude of platforms.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who can provide information and support to Haematology & Oncology Department to ensure the smooth running of the clinics. Good communication skills are essential as working alongside the multidisciplinary team, liaising with different departments, Trusts and departments to ensure good continuity of care for the patient cohort. This includes negotiation of outpatient clinic appointments with patients and subsequent booking of clinics on electronic systems. Booking urgent Cancer appointments for patients within the department following consultation - filling and fully utilising clinical procedure sessions. Liaising with medical secretaries, medical records and other department to ensure correct documentation is available for patient attendance.
The post holder will require a good working knowledge of IT as all systems used in this post are digital.

Provide an efficient administrative and day-to-day support service to the department. Duties will include booking of outpatient and treatment appointments, co-ordination of outpatient clinics for a defined team of clinicians, dealing with different enquiries, dealing with patients records and other general office administration duties.
Undertake effective administrative and clerical duties as part of the administration team.
The post holder will be required to work as part of the administration team and provide cross cover during periods of staff absence within their existing team and other teams within the Directorate as and when required.
This support should be provided during the core hours of 0800 and 1800 and should be aligned to the Direct Clinical Care time of the Clinical Team for whom they support.
