Job summary
Applications are invited for a 6-month fixed term ophthalmology doctor at Kettering General Hospital. The post involves clinics at Kettering General and Nene Park.
The post holder with take part in casualty clinics. The weekend on call is currently provided at Kettering General Hospital. The post holder will be expected to take on call duties in the evenings and weekends as first on call on a rota basis.
Main duties of the job
Assisting with General and Oculoplastic clinics.
Supporting the Eye Casualty Service and on call service (1weekdays including an out of hours service and weekends).
Regular clinical sessions in outpatient department and peripheral clinics.
Liaison with other departments on and off the KGH site at the request of consultant staff.
One half day each week is available for academic work/research and continuing education.
Duties will include an administrative element including correspondence, results of investigations, histology and GP liaison.
The post holder will be expected to participate in post graduate educational activities organised by the department and within the district as allowed by the duties already outlined.
So far as is consistent with the proper discharge of the above duties, the post holder undertakes to deputies from time to time for absent colleagues.
