The Neonatal Unit is looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly Neonatal team. This vacancy is a fixed term contract for a year to cover maternity leave and is open toRNC's and RN's with at least 6 months post grad qualification, who are looking for a new challenge or a change in direction within their career.
As aBand 5 Staff nurse you will be well supported to further enhance your clinical knowledge and expertise to develop from novice to expert within the sphere of neonatal nursing.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of care required for the sick neonate and their family. Following an induction programme and period of preceptorship the post holder will be expected to carry out holistic, family centred care in a supportive environment without direct supervision.
Our level 2 neonatal unit has the capacity for 2 intensive care cots, 6 high dependency cots and 8 special care cots. Our Neonatal matron leads our team of senior nurses, practice development nurse, neonatal nurses, nursing associates and neonatal support workers.

- To be responsible for the assessment of care required by the sick neonate in conjunction with medical and specialist staff, ensuring family centred care by working in partnership with parents/carers and using effective communication skills.

- To attend mandatory study days as required by the Trust and external study days when allocated and provide feedback to other members of staff to maximise utilisation of knowledge.
