Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 ENT Scrub Nurse to join our dynamic and supportive Theatre team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse or ODP who is passionate about delivering high-quality perioperative care within a specialist ENT environment. You will play a key role in supporting elective and emergency ENT surgery, including procedures such as tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, grommets, nasal and sinus surgery, airway procedures, and head & neck operations.
You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring all patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout their perioperative journey.
You will be a Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration. Ideally, you will have previous experience in ENT scrub practice, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

You will be organised, adaptable, and confident working in a fast-paced theatre environment, with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a strong commitment to patient safety, continuous improvement, and ongoing professional development.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will provide professional and skilled scrub support for a range of ENT surgical procedures, ensuring safe and effective perioperative care aligned with Trust standards and clinical governance requirements. You will prepare and manage surgical instruments, equipment, and specialized ENT devices, contributing to the smooth running of the theatre and maintaining excellent infection-prevention and documentation standards.
Working closely with surgeons, anaethetists, ODPs and theatre support staff, you will uphold a sterile environment and contribute to positive patient outcomes. You will support junior colleagues and students, assist in maintaining theatre readiness, and participate in ongoing service improvement, training, and development.
