We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy ENT Outpatients Manager to join our friendly and innovative ENT OPD. In this key role, you will be an integral part of the team, using your Management & Leadership skills to provide high-quality, patient-focused care and smooth running of the department. You will have the opportunity to take charge of the clinical & non-clinical area in the absence of the Manager, lead a team of dedicated junior staff, and mentor students, acting as a vital role model and supporting their development. We are committed to your professional growth and will support you in undertaking further specialist training such as Micro-suctioning. You will be an experienced Band 5 or existing Band 6 who can demonstrate sound leadership skills and experience managing the team . You will have a keen interest in ENT anatomy & physiology and cases & minor surgical procedures. Also should be able to triage as and when needed . Working as a Deputy Manager on ENT OPD, The post holder will assist in the overall management of the service ensuring delivery of high standards of care to patients and their families/carers who attend our clinics which includes children . They will act as a clinical role model, setting and upholding agreed clinical standards and enabling patients to receive high quality, evidenced based care.
The post holder will also be expected to coordinate the unit, contribute to teaching, assessing, and supporting staff and students. This includes service improvement and being part of the ENT OPD Shared Decision Making Council. They will provide leadership and support to both nursing and multidisciplinary team ensuring the promotion of a safe working environment. The post holder will be an advocate for compliance with Trust values, policies and providing the Best Possible Care.
The post holder will be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and network with other professionals, locally and nationally for the purpose of developing practice and the development of the service. They will be a visible presence for all patients and visitors to the area and provide a pivotal role for inter-professional working. The post holder must be proactive in organizing unit meets and be responsible in teaching new staff members & students.
