Job summary

Clifford ward is looking for a Ward Clerk to join the team to work Monday to Sunday on a rota basis, including weekend and evenings. Part time and Job share hours considered.

Urgent Care is a busy fast paced area with a high turnover of patients, the role involves multi tasking and a flexible approach to tasks.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a part-time Ward Clerk to work in Clifford Ward during the evenings and weekends .

The ward is a busy fast paced assessment units with a high turnover of patients. The ward clerk is the first point of contact for patients and their family, therefore, being approachable, helpful, and remaining calm in difficult situation is essential.

The role involves a variety of admin tasks from taking telephone calls/messages from patients relatives, filing and updating our in house patient systems, where support and training will be provided if needed. The successful applicant will need to have good computer skills and have the ability to multi-task.

Job responsibilities

To maintain patients records and notes and other ward records using our in-patient systems to ensure patients information is up to date.

To aid the patients discharge process by filing and forwarding patients ward notes to the relevant wards. Updating Careflow to ensure that the patients information is available to others within the trust.

Answering the telephone and taking messages and passing these onto the nursing staff, in accordance to an agreed standard.

Ensure patient confidentiality at all times to comply with trust polices.

Photocopying/scanning of documents and preparing of ward packs to support the nursing staff.

Any ad hoc tasks to support the service needs.
