Advanced Specialist Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with a passion for acute care to join our forward-thinking and highly regarded therapy team. We welcome applications from Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapists who are looking for full-time, part-time hours or secondment opportunities. This is a fixed term opportunity for 4 months.

The post holder will be leading a roaming therapy team providing expertise and assessment to the discharge hub, escalation areas and medically fit ward/areas with complex therapy needs impacting discharge.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role entails:

  • Be the therapy representative at discharge hub meetings - providing consistent, expert therapy advice to inform accurate and appropriate hub decisions first time.

  • To provide advice and support to ward therapist on complex cases delaying discharges (identified via, discharge hub, bronze, stranded or therapy staff themselves).

  • To provide therapy cover to escalation areas - ensuring these are prioritized equally to the base wards.

  • To provide additional senior therapy decision maker on the medically fit wards to enable positive risk conversations and improve flow.

  • State Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development through maintenance of a portfolio.

Desirable

Knowledge/Experience

  • Ability to work across 7 day service
  • Relevant experience working within the NHS environment.
