An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly ENT Outpatient Department at Kettering General Hospital.

Our Working hours are 08.00-18.00 Monday - Friday.

The ENT Outpatient Department is a key element in providing a high-quality service to patients and in achieving agreed standards within the trust. We are looking for a motivated and resilient healthcare assistant, with a "can do" attitude, to join our team.

The post holder will also need to be working in collaboration with NGH ENT OPD which means you will also need to cover KGH ENT OPD & NGH ENT OPD during staffing challenge as per the UHN trust guidelines

This post is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route (formerly Tier 2) or Health and Care Worker visa. Therefore, only candidates who can demonstrate their right to work in the UK without sponsorship will be considered.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to give high quality nursing care and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You will consistently ensure that a patient's privacy, dignity and psychological well-being is maintained, and at all times, the care given is patient centered.

You need to have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. We require individuals who are forward thinking, well organised and with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.

The post holder will:

  • Work at KGH ENT OPD (Main site) & NGH ENT OPD when needed.
  • Support in the running of the various clinics held within the ENT Outpatients Department, providing a reassurance, support and empathy to patients.
  • Provide and maintain a high standard of evidence-based care to meet identified needs.
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure delivery of individual treatments plans under the guidance of qualified members of the team.
  • Able to be part of ENT Shared Decision Making Council projects

  • Educated to Vocational Qualification/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of education, training or experience
  • Holds National Care Certificate or equivalent level of education, training or experience (e.g. able to demonstrate the skill and competency to undertake the clinical duties as described in the job description)
  • Holds Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English or education equivalent

Desirable

  • Speciality specific training and competencies achieved and ongoing development

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience working in as a Healthcare Assistant in an healthcare, social care organisation/setting or service industry requiring people contact
  • Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control and Safeguarding processes
  • Experience of working in a healthcare team and patient settings
  • Experience of dealing with patient/relative verbal complaints
