Our volunteers are an invaluable part of the hospital team. When you volunteer with us, you help to improve patient experience through supporting staff with patient care.

We currently have the following volunteer roles available.o Ward Volunteer (08:00 - 20:00 Mon-Sun)o A&E Volunteer (Over 18's, 08:00 - 00:00 Mon-Sun)o Response Volunteer ( 09:00 - 16:00 Mon-Fri)o Spiritual and Pastoral Care (Chaplaincy) Volunteer (Flexible)o Brew Buddy Volunteer ( 09:30 - 16:00 Mon-Fri)Please clearly state in your supporting statement which role you are interested in.

Main duties of the job

Ward Volunteer - Based on wards supporting staff with patient care. You will complete 4 shifts training on one of the Academy wards before been allocated to a new ward. Duties will include spending time with patients, sitting and engaging in friendly conversation, help hosts with hydration and nutrition and running errands for staff.

A&E Volunteer (Over 18's) - Provide directional support to guide patients to the correct areas within A&E and other parts of the hospital, engage with patients, restocking.

Response Volunteer- This role will involve working across all departments, i.e. Collecting and delivering notes / swabs / medication / equipment, running errands from various departments / wards.

Spiritual and Pastoral Care (Chaplaincy) Volunteer - To complement the work of our Hospital Spiritual and Pastoral Care team, the Chaplains arefortunate to have a group of Spiritual and Pastoral Care volunteers who visit our wards / A&E.

Brew Buddy Volunteer - Supporting staff wellbeing through providing refreshments, delivering a mobile beverage service, managing stock levels and restocking the trolley, being friendly and approachable to colleagues and patients.
