Reporting to the Divisional Director (DD), the Deputy Divisional Director will assist with the delivery ofhigh quality and high performing services, within budget for an agreed level of activity at an expected
level of service and clinical quality. The Deputy Divisional Director is expected to ensure all theactivities undertaken within the Division are subject to best practice governance arrangements andmeet national policies, local policies and guidance.
The Deputy Divisional Director will assist with providing leadership and direction for the division, ensuring that this supports the fulfilment of the Trust's objectives and patient safety requirements.
The Deputy Divisional Director will assist the DD with the operational management of the division,ensuring the effective implementation of both national and local strategies and the achievement ofservice objectives within available resources.
Main duties of the job
Service Delivery and Development To assist with the implementation of the division's strategy - including identifying opportunities for growing, improving and redesigning services in line with theTrust's objectives.
To assist in identifying future resourcing requirements and ensuring that the division meets itscontractual and other requirements, e.g. waiting list targets, NHS Plan standards.
To work with the Divisional Management Team to ensure the effective performance of the divisionand accountable for the delivery of all national and local standards, performance indicators andthe Trust's annual business plan.
To assist in building an effective team to support and strengthen clinical leadership within thedirectorate.
To assist in ensuring that the division has effective arrangements in place for identifying,assessing, reporting and managing risk, in line with National Standards Local Action andHealthcare Commission Standards.
