Job summary
Working with a vision of delivering 'Best Possible Care', the Matron will work alongsidethe Clinical Director and Directorate Manager providing professional leadership andmanagement with particular responsibility to the Nursing Care provision within theirDirectorate and as part of the Corporate Nursing team.
The Matron will be accountable for the efficient and effective operational management ofthe nursing workforce, guaranteeing provision of high quality evidence based nursingpractice which will be delivered within theatres.
The Matron will be a strong clinical leader, easily identifiable, highly visible andaccessible to patients, carers and staff. He/she will have a particular responsibility tosupport the developments of Clinical Governance and Service Improvement, tomodernise patient services and ensure the active involvement of patients and carers inthe way services are developed, delivered and evaluated.
Leading by example he/she will drive up standards of clinical care and have the authorityto get the essential components of care right for patients

An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent post as a Band 8a Surgery Matron within the Surgical Division. We are looking for someone who is motivated, innovative and passionate about their role, someone who is forward thinking with well-rounded leadership skills in order to take a team with them on a journey for excellence.
It is also important that the successful candidate has 3 years previous senior nurse management experience. There is collaboration work across Northamptonshire Hospitals; KGH and NGH. The successful candidate will be based at KGH but will work closely with our NGH colleagues.
