We have an opportunity for a Head of OD and Inclusion that you might be interested in!

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the strategic direction for the service(s) through the creation of a programme of work that will drive employee engagement, strengthening a culture and environment where staff feel included, able to speak up and one where our values are brought to life through all people practices.

As a member of the People Directorate senior leadership team you will develop an OD and Inclusion service that will enable all colleagues to be supported and valued regardless of background or circumstance. You will translate strategy into ambitious delivery plans, working in collaboration with other People teams in support of cultural change and leading your team with compassion and empathy.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on Friday 1st December 2023.

Main duties of the job

We have made progress in our delivery of improvements in culture across our Trusts and we are now looking for a skilled, passionate and articulate leader who can continue to grow this agenda and utilise their skill to further facilitate collaboration work, intervention and culture change.

You will be a highly skilled communicator and influencer, proactive in working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at system, region and national level and ensure we have and use best practice and current thinking though practical application. You will be able to identify links between patient care and culture, making a strategic case for change, supported by excellent engagement skills and broad understanding.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a real team player, able to develop effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders delivering excellence through collaboration. Above all, you will be an experienced OD leader able to support, motivate and develop your team of experts to grow their capability and help UHN create an inclusive culture where our staff our fully engaged and feel highly valued.

Essential

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in HR, Organisational Development or People Services
  • Evidence of highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Master's degree in organisational change or similar.
  • Qualifications in managing / delivering projects and programmes
  • Level A & B Occupational testing

Knowledge/Experience

Essential

  • In-depth professional knowledge underpinned by theory and experience in relevant discipline(s) which will include Organisational Development, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion acquired through further training and experience over an extended period
  • Up-to-date knowledge of HR & OD best practice and methodologies, employment law, employment policy and practice, CIPD codes and recommended 'best practice'
  • Significant and in-depth experience as an OD Leader in a complex organisation
  • Significant experience of leading process and people change in a complex organisation, balancing strategic and tactical approaches
  • Competent & experienced at design/delivery of training and development interventions in the area of OD, management, EDI and/or leadership development
  • n depth knowledge & experience of facilitating groups at all levels within a large organisation
  • Understanding of the theoretical roots of OD
  • Significant and in-depth experience of identifying and implementing organisational development interventions, with evidence of outcomes
  • Experience of process redesign/re-engineering techniques
