Job summary

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is offering an opportunity for an exceptional candidate to lead our homecare and high cost medicines agenda. The locally embedded homecare is combined with an opportunity to influence provision of homecare at regional level as the regional homecare lead.

It is an exciting time to join this innovative department as we are in the process of developing our homecare services further. Working with our established technical team and clinical leads you will be responsible for the management of a specialist pharmacy service for homecare medicines provided by third parties to KGH patients.

You will be a member of our Pharmacy Leadership and Development Group contributing to the day to day management and strategic direction of the department.

Kettering is well placed - only an hour from London, within easy reach of Cambridge, Leicester and Peterborough, and surrounded by beautiful countryside. On site accommodation may be available if required.

Main duties of the job

At regional level you'll chair the Regional Pharmacy Homecare Group and will provide expert leadership at regional level. You will have comprehensive knowledge of the homecare market within England and will participate at national and regional level in determining strategies and long term cost effective solutions for the procurement and management of homecare medicine services primarily by the hospital sector of the NHS.

At local level you'll manage, lead, develop and implement a dedicated specialist Pharmacy service for homecare medicines provided by third parties to KGH patients ensuring robust, safe, effective and auditable processes and systems are in place in line with national standards and localpolicy and procedures. You will act as the lead for high cost medicines, providing expert professional advice and developing plans for monitoring and reporting on expenditure for Trust managers and commissioners.
