An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Group Digital Division as Clinical Applications Manager. The postholder will be responsible for the efficient delivery of a second line support service for our clinical and non-clinical applications across both Kettering General Hospital and Northampton General Hospital.
The ability to travel between the Kettering General and Northampton General Hospital sites will be a requirement.
Main duties of the job
As Clinical Applications Manager you will:
- Provide leadership to, and overall management of the Clinical Applications Team to meet both operational and strategic requirements to support and deliver EPR for the Trust.
- Be an inspirational and engaging lead for digital, committed to developing yourself and others within the team.
- Maintain an EPR support strategy which ensures that the Trust has robust systems, with 24/7 support.
- Ensure best practice configuration management takes place, including maintenance of software inventory, user management and role based access control.
- Ensure that the Trust has active maintenance support contracts in place for key systems and that 3rdparty contracts are managed effectively, and regular service reviews are undertaken.
- Ensure the successful delivery of application-based projects such as new implementations and upgrades, that they are fit for purpose and are implemented safely, with clear business continuity plans in place and support processes moving in to 'business as usual'.
We are seeking an individual with:
- significant experience of managing a team within a digital healthcare environment,
- expert knowledge of how computer systems support patient care,
- a full understanding of the ITIL lifecycle,
- a methodical and systematic approach to problem solving and dealing with issues that arise,
- the ability to work under pressure,
- excellent organisational, prioritisation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Educated to Masters level education or equivalent level or equivalent experience delivering Digital services
- Evidence of continuous personal and professional development.

Knowledge and Experience

- Extensive experience in building and managing clinical systems delivery functions at a senior level (preferably in an NHS environment)
