The post is for the appointment of a Trust Grade Registrar in Otolaryngology in ENT @ University Hospitals of Northamptonshire.
The post is for the appointment of a Trust Grade Registrar in ENT @ University Hospitals of Northamptonshire. The post holders will have current experience at registrar and above level in Otolaryngology. There are currently 9 ENT consultants, and the post holders will join a team of 6 Middle Grade Doctors working at the university hospitals of Northamptonshire based at both Kettering General Hospital (KGH) and Northampton General Hospital (NGH).
This is a 10-programmed activity position, which is available immediately. Applicants will possess the MRCS or equivalent and have had completed recognised training in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery.
The post will include an on-call commitment of one in eight at second-tier level. There is an ENT FY1/2 at first tier level and a consultant at third tier level.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based at Kettering General and Northampton General Hospital. The post has a minimum of 10 programme activities. There are training lists but priority is given to the 2 Specialist Registrars on the Oxford Specialist Training Rotation. There are also autonomous theatre lists. The post holder will join the second on call rota, which is a 1 in 8 rota. Working hours are from 08.00 - 18.00.

The post holder will join the ENT team and will be expected to attend daily ward rounds unless off or attending training in Oxford. There will be a mixture of autonomous and training clinics and theatre lists as set out in the job plan. The post holder will share the duties for the provision of tracheostomies for ITU patients with their fellow Registrar.
