Job summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced administration candidates to join our busy administrative team. We have a part time 15hrs per week (Thursday and Friday) Band 2 Administration Assistant vacancy with the Community Treatment Learning Disability (CTLD) Service based at Benton House, 136 Sandyford Road, Newcastle upon Tyne NE2 1QE.

The post holder must have proven administration experience and will be involved in working as a member of the admin team to support clinical staff and provide a comprehensive, high quality administrative service at all times. You will undertake a variety of duties including answering busy telephone line, reception duties, dealing with day to day queries, updating patient information system, sorting incoming/outgoing post, completing work from a shared inbox as well as other administration tasks.

Main duties of the job

Candidates will be responsible for administrative functions and must have demonstrable recent 12 month experienceincluding, but not limited, to the following: (see job description for further information):

  • Experience working in a customer / patient focused environment (face to face and telephone)
  • Admin /Clerical and General administrative duties experience
  • Fast, accurate typing/keyboard skills
  • Typing letters/reports
  • Ability to be self-directed, motivated and be able to contribute positively within a team
  • Ability to change tasks at short notice
  • Reliable and punctual
  • We would like to recruit an Administration Assistant who is flexible, responsive, motivated, well organised, adaptable and provide a positive patient experience.
  • The post holder will be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with possible exposure to highly distressing or highly emotional circumstances and will be expected to participate on all relevant training courses appropriate to the role

You should currently hold the required level of qualifications, as outlined in the Essential Criteria of the Personal Specification. If you do not meet this criteria you will not be shortlisted.

  • OCR/RSA Level 2 Typing/Word processing qualification (or equivalent) and/or relevant demonstrable experience
  • Good general level of education to O-Level/ GCSE or equivalent in English Language

  • NVQ Level 2 in Customer Care (or equivalent)
