Physical Health Skills Lead Trainer

Job summary

This is a rare opportunity to join the friendly, motivated and innovative CNTW Academy Team. We want to recruit a highly motivated, flexible and skilled Registered Nurse as a Lead Trainer within CNTW Academy. We are looking for someone to specifically take the lead in the delivery of physical health skills and should have experience of phlebotomy, ECG, resuscitation and a range of other training to support our staff to meet the physical health needs of our patients. The successful applicant will have had extensive previous experience of delivering a range of care relating to physical health. The post holder will be encouraged to work independently whilst having the full support of Academy colleagues. If you have the skills and you're passionate about delivering high quality care and sharing your knowledge with colleagues from a range of disciplines across CNTW then this could be the job for you. The successful candidate will be delivering training across all Trust locations, providing advice to senior colleagues, managers and staff attending courses plus providing training and development advice to the wider Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to work across the CNTW geographical footprint as Trust wide Lead Trainer for Physical Health Skills, designing, delivering, evaluating and co-ordinating training in this specialist area.

The post holder will need to cover the geographical footprint of the North East and Cumbria.

To take the lead role specifically but not exclusively in the delivery of resuscitation and life support training, venepuncture, ECG and the Trust's Physical Health Skills programme.

To support the training activity of clinically / work based trainers across the Trust.

To ensure that processes for training delivery are constantly evaluated and improved in light of their efficiency, effectiveness and flexibility.

To take a lead role in the evaluation and reporting on quality of training delivered through the academy.

To work autonomously providing highly specialist advice to colleagues, managers and staff attending courses.

To provide leadership and development opportunities to junior team members across the CNTW Academy team including supporting the Academy admin Team.

To contribute at a senior level to the effective coordination and delivery of the trust'slearning and development activities and programmes to meet legal, NHS andorganisational requirements.

Essential

  • Highly Specialist knowledge of a range of training related topics acquired through an appropriate degree, professional qualification or professional clinical qualification
  • Practical experience of the physical health activities to be taught
  • Training or experience to postgraduate diploma level or equivalent.
  • Training or experience to postgraduate diploma level or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Teaching / Assessing Qualification

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Specialist training and development knowledge, including legislative requirements and training and development priorities.
  • Knowledge and skills in the core topics to be delivered. ILS / Resus, Phlebotomy, ECG, Physical Health Skills
  • Ability to use computerised systems, and also Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to use IT equipment for training such as MS Teams
  • Understanding of the services provided by the Trust, sufficient to effectively contribute to business and workforce plans.

Desirable

  • Ability to think and operate at a senior level.
  • Practical experience of the physical health activities to be taught
