Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Senior Workforce Manager, you will deliver high-quality, independent workforce investigations for a range of NHS and non-NHS clients. You will manage complex and sensitive cases, including disciplinary matters, grievances, whistleblowing concerns, bullying and harassment issues, and dignity at work complaints.
You will take full ownership of cases from instruction to conclusion, including planning the investigation, identifying key lines of enquiry, preparing documentation, interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence. You will produce clear, balanced and well-reasoned investigation reports that support fair and transparent decision-making.
When required, you will present findings at hearings or client meetings, providing professional advice and responding confidently to questions about process and evidence. Effective caseload management, accurate record-keeping and adherence to legislation, best practice and client policies are essential.
Most investigation activity will be completed remotely via Microsoft Teams, supporting flexible working across multiple locations. Occasional in-person meetings may be required depending on case needs.
