Job summary

We are delighted to offer the opportunity of 2 staff nurse posts on Rothbury Unit Secure care services at the purpose built Sycamore Unit, Northgate Park

Rothbury provides specialist medium secure inpatient assessment, formulation and treatment for men within the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway where a hospital setting is required to enable:

  • Risk stabilisation
  • Diagnostic formulation
  • Structured, high-intensity care delivered consistently across the inpatient environment
  • Psychological intervention
  • Planned progression back into the criminal justice pathway

We aim to deliver a psychologically informed, relationally secure medium secure service for individuals assessed as high or very high risk, where personality difficulties are clinically and causally linked to serious offending, and where prison-based interventions alone are insufficient.

Main duties of the job

Act as a Primary/Named Nurse within a multi-disciplinary team, developing collaborative, and needs based care plans, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Provide excellent professional, skilled and effective person centred, evidence based nursing care.

Be actively involved in the health and wellbeing of staff and service users.

Be visible and accessible to patients, families and carers working together to ensure efficient, effective and caring services.

Contribute to achieving all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes
