Job summary

South Tyneside Community Treatment Team are looking to recruit a caring and compassionate Clinical Support Assistant with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team offering treatment to clients experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. You will provide evidence-based interventions under the direction of qualified clinicians in various settings including, community settings, team base, clients homes and in-reach interventions within hospital settings.

This role includes facilitating physical health clinics and it is essential for the successful candidate to complete phlebotomy duties, and training is available in the Trust.

We are keen to develop clinicians and provide excellent training opportunities to allow you to deliver NICE guidance treatment. We are proactive with Team Wellbeing and have various support mechanisms available.

You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team including nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychology/Psychological Therapist, Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Support Assistants and Peer Supporter. You will receive regular supervision both on an individual basis and in a group setting and will work closely with other CNTW services and local agencies.

Main duties of the job

To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, under the direction of a registered practitioner.

To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.

To support in the running of treatment clinics including phlebotomy and physical health checks.It is essential for the successful candidate to complete phlebotomy duties and training is available in the Trust.

To maintain electronic health records of any treatment interventions completed.

To work as a member of the team in providing excellent and effective person-centred care. In-reach work into hospital environments will be required.

To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy.
