Job summary
EIP Gateshead are seeking a Pathway Manager who can support the teams to continue to shape service user's first experience of mental health services, ensure the use of evidence based interventions and be involved in research which will support the recovery from first episode psychosis.
You will work within a Multi disciplinary Team (MDT), providing Management supervision, training / development and operational support to the teams alongside Clinical Manager, Clinical Lead and wider leadership team. The service is committed to developing the skills of practitioners, ensuring the delivery of care is high quality and to focus on recovery through ensuring performance targets are achieved.
Main duties of the job
- Have a wide knowledge base about EIP services and what they provide.
- Provide Clinical supervision and Clinical decision making within the team
- allocate cases to the most appropriate person
- manage complex and challenging situations
- Carry a small caseload
- support Team Manager and Leadership team
- Provide verbal and written reports and advice / support to team in completing this task.
- Alongside the leadership team continue to review the quality of the service we provide.

You will be joining an established EIP team in the central CBU
You will compliment the existing Clinical lead , assisting the continuous development of skills and service.
You will work in conjunction with the leadership teams across both Newcastle and Gateshead EIP services to ensure the quality of the service provided, and provide leave cover for Newcastle EIP.

Education and Qualification
Essential
- First Level Registered Nurse RNMH, RMN, RNLD or equivalent first level qualification e.g. Social Worker, OT, Clinical Psychologist, other.
- Relevant Post Graduate qualification or Training.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Experience of coordinating and managing staff resources.
- Understanding of integrated working.
- Understanding of recovery-focused interventions for First episode psychosis.
- Ability to lead, motivate and support a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven ability to manage a clinical caseload in a flexible manner as required.
- Experience of providing clinical/managerial supervision to clinical staff.
- Strong knowledge of Risk assessment and management in community Mental Health setting
- Knowledge of clinical governance, incident reporting and learning from serious incidents.
