Job summary

We are recruiting an Advanced Practitioner to work within North Tyneside Community Team Treatment Team.

You will be working within an established multidisciplinary clinical team and as part of the leadership team, alongside the Team Manager, Clinical leads and Nurse Consultant. The service covers North Tyneside locality and has bases in Longbenton, North Shields & Whitley Bay.

The successful candidate will need to have a relevant registered qualification, need to be flexible in your approach and able to respond to the needs of the service

Main duties of the job

As Advanced Practitioner you will have an identified caseload, providing care, treatment & interventions to support recovery. The post holder will also provide clinical supervision &provide scaffolding to the wider MDT, be available to offer expert clinical advice within complex situations and support positive risk taking.

The successful candidate will hold expert clinical skills and experience in relation to supporting service users with complex mental health needs.

The post holder will work within the Leadership Team to develop the service, whilst also working effectively alongside colleagues across CNTW and external partnerships. The post holder will not only support in the development and training of new and existing staff but work alongside the management team to ensure cohesive leadership structures are in place, to further embed high clinical standards and delivery of care within the CTT.

The successful candidate will lead on ensuring safe and responsive care is maintained and reviewed in a collective way through team meetings, supervision & supporting patient safety & incident framework, including completing & supporting early learning reviews, after action reviews and supporting staff with debriefs following any complex / serious incidents.

You will also contribute to the development of the Community Treatment Team in line with the transformation of community services, to deliver care in innovative and flexible ways in order to meet the needs of patients.

Education and Qualification

Essential

  • First Level Registered Nurse RNMH, RMN, RNLD or equivalent first level qualification e.g. Social Worker, OT, Clinical Psychologist, other.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in evidence based treatments relevant to Pathway.
  • ENB 998/P126/127 Student Assessor
  • Safeguarding Children and Adults Training

Desirable

  • Relevant training/qualification related to working with clients with SMI / non-psychosis pathway or equivalent experience

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team. Experience in managing Complex Cases and Risk.
  • Commitment to Partnership working both multi-agency and multi-disciplinary.
  • Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines.
  • Coordinating and supporting staff in the day to day provision of clinical services.
  • Proven ability to manage a clinical caseload in a flexible manner as required.
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision to clinical staff.
