Job summary

Sunderland South Community Treatment Team are looking for a full time Clinical Support Assistant.

The role involves supporting the delivery of evidence based care and treatment to individuals with complex mental health needs, supervised and supported by a multi disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, including both psychosis and non psychosis under the direction of a registered practitioner.

To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.

To complete physical health checks including phlebotomy and ECG, in line with NICE guidelines.

To support in facilitating medication managements clinics, inclusive of clozapine and lithium.

To support the team in providing excellent and effective person centred care.

To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy.

Essential

  • Senior Healthcare Support Worker or equivalent or working towards

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a relevant clinical service
  • GCSE A-C in maths and English or equivalent.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working/ volunteering in an appropriate care setting

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a community setting
  • Experience of involving service users/ carers in evaluation/planning and monitoring of services

Skills

Essential

  • Good verbal and written communication skills. ICT Functional skills.
  • Good and effective time Management
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
