Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist has arisen, to contribute to the provision of the Occupational Therapy Service within the Adult In-patient Pathway at St George's Park, Morpeth.

You will be responsible for providing Occupational Therapy assessments/interventions to patients with a range of mental health needs. You will have a significant role in discharge planning and supporting clients to progress through their recovery pathway. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across wards depending upon service need.

The successful therapist will have the opportunity to work as an autonomous practitioner although will also work closely with the expanding Occupational Therapy team and multi-disciplinary colleagues.We require an enthusiastic, Occupational Therapist with the ability to work independently and with a commitment to their own personal and professional development. Regular formal and informal supervision/support will be provided by a Band 6 Occupational Therapist.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified Occupational Therapist or an existing Band 5 looking to broaden their experience.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist with a degree/diploma (or equivalent) to join the team.

You must be motivated to provide high quality, evidence based interventions to service users accessing Adult Mental Health in inpatient services.

You will receive regular support and supervision, with opportunities to develop clinical skills. Continuous professional development is essential and the Trust has established appraisal systems in place
